2:03 pm - Update
A huge thank you is in order for all of the kind comments and emails I got after my last post.  Sometimes I don't know what to say when I hear that a friend/blogger is having a hard time, but just seeing notes saying that me and Kiero were in someone's thoughts helped put a smile on my face.  I'll have to remember that even if I don't know *what* to say, just saying *something* is often enough.

Kiero is still limping and definitely not 100% back to her normal self, but she's doing MUCH better.  I haven't heard one of those gut-wrenching yelps for a few days now and she's been coming out to join me on the couch in the evenings.  She's starting to put a bit of weight on her bad leg too.  Hopefully this means it was just a muscle tear or sprain.

The one good thing that came out of this is I found a wonderful new vet.  When I took her in Saturday morning, I went to our usual vet at their 9 a.m. opening time.  The receptionist was just opening up, but much to my dismay, the vet wasn't coming in at all.  I don't know why they're open at all on Saturdays if the vet isn't working.  Do they really sell enough dog food to warrant it?  I guess.

Anyway, I ended up taking Kiero to a different vet 5 or 6 blocks up the street.  She was absolutely wonderful and phoned yesterday to check in on how Kiero was doing.  I would've been impressed if the receptionist or one of the vet techs had called us for an update, but the vet herself?  Wow!  Totally impressed.  I think she'll be my new regular vet for both dogs.

Server update: all of the content is supposed to be transferred over now, but I haven't been able to check it yet because I don't think the password stuff is set up.  I'm not sure if the host company does this or if CCBill needs to do it, but hopefully we'll have all the bugs worked out this weekend and I can get back to normal.  And update with some new stuff!

1:58 pm - Weathering the Storm

Hello my little sweet peas! I've been having the craziest week that feels like the only thing left to happen is for my house to burn down. Knock on wood!

My site was hacked and a couple of member passwords were posted on a bunch of forums. Basically over the next few days, hundreds of people were downloading my entire site which means that my bandwidth charges went through the roof. My hosting company is charging me $963 more this month ON TOP of what I already pay for hosting. *cry*

I did cry actually. I stomped and cried and then threw myself into action trying to find somewhere to move my site. There is no way I can pay $963, so I'm scrambling to move my site to a new host before the old host pulls the plug on me. That's been taking up the bulk of my time this week, trying to get all of my movies and photo sets moved over to a new server, fighting with tech support, just generally fighting.

Phew. I'm exhausted. And go figure...2 days ago I got walloped with a horrible cold. I've been sleeping lots, drinking my OJ & trying not to overdose on Tylenol Sinus. My throat is all closed up and everything in my body aches.

Just as I was waiting for the locusts to come - Kiero, my lovey dovey super sweet love of my life, got hurt. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but we were going to the leash free dog park & she hopped out of the car, onto the grass & started limping. I looked at her paw to see if she had a thorn or stepped on glass or something...right away she started shrieking, the most horrible doggy yelp that stabs right through my heart.

She's been limping since Friday and as soon as I try to pick her up, she SCREAMS in pain. She can't get comfortable in her bed (or my bed). She keeps trying to lay down, but then is in pain so sits up again. I took her to the vet first thing in the morning on Saturday and the vet did a thorough check of her whole leg, her back, her shoulder and armpit, even her neck. Apparently neck pain can often show up as leg pain since it sort of shoots right down their paws.

Since the vet couldn't figure out what was wrong with her, we're hoping it's just a muscle pull. She's on pain meds for the next few days, but if she's not showing improvement by Monday, I'm supposed to take her back & that's where it gets really scary. If it's not a simple muscle problem, then it could be a tumour that's pushing on a nerve & causing the pain. *cry cry cry*

I don't know what I'm going to do. I keep praying to see some improvement because I'm sooooo not ready to let go of my baby girl yet. Seeing her in pain like this and not being able to do anything to help her is pure torture. And now I'm crying again!

OK...back to you guys! The positive upswing of all this is once my site is fully moved over to the new server it should be BETTER. It should be faster, have tons of space for adding lots more movies and I should have good tech support that can handle all of these kind of silly problems so I can just focus on making movies and chatting and YOU!

So. Hopefully I've weathered the storm and it'll be blue skies for the rest of...for the rest of my life! It can't get any worse, can it? Yikes. :)

1:04 pm - The Pink Bike Helmet
Looking dorky in my pink bike helmet

As promised, there's me looking dorky in my pink bike helmet. I hate wearing a helmet at all, but since I'm not a fan of getting tickets and I'm bound to take a spill at some point, better safe than sorry, right?

My dad boxed up my old bike a few months ago and I've been riding it pretty much everywhere ever since. Granted we've had fantastic weather and I haven't been stuck in the rain yet, like I will be all winter, but I'm really loving the way the world looks from a bike. Mundane chores like picking up groceries or returning library books are pure joy when I get to feel the wind whipping across my face instead of sitting in traffic. I hate driving, I really hate being stuck in traffic and I really *really* hate circling around looking for parking. All of the things that get my blood boiling on a daily basis are removed when I'm out on my bike instead. I love it.

And yeah, it's worth looking like a dork.

12:22 am - Hiking Pics
Purple Starfish

I snapped a few pics with my cell phone while I was out hiking with my mom last week. She's just like me, so we had great fun climbing around the rocks at low tide and searching for treasure. I've never seen starfish out there before and these purple ones looked amazing! Even more exciting, check out the octopus my mom spotted under a rock:

Octopus!

The pug loved it, of course. He just had a bath the day before grandma arrived, but after digging in the ocean and wading up to his belly, he needed another one. Nothing like wet dog mixed with dead fish smell!

1:39 am - Sister Time
I'm having a great visit with my sister and her family, so please pardon the quietness 'round these parts.  Last night we went to see the Canucks hockey game (and I got some great pics which I'll post later).  Tonight we stayed in so I could cook dinner and introduce her to Wii bowling for the first time.  Lots of fun, but I really need to put the beer down and get back to work!  They're here until Saturday, so I may need to kick them out tomorrow for some alone time.  :)

6:54 pm - Sexy Panties Pics
I posted a new gallery for my lovely Kris Madison members, plus a few free pics over on my main blog.  I'm not sure exactly what the rules are for posting on LJ these days, so I like to try to keep it clean over here.  But if you're up for the NSFW pics, head this way: Sexy Panties

10:05 am - Going to See Sarah Silverman Tonight!

Sarah Silverman

Woohoo! I'm going to see Sarah Silverman tonight! She's not everyone's cup of tea, I realize, but I think her over the top political incorrectness is hilarious. It's all in the delivery really and hers is just spot on. I'm so excited! I've never been to a "real" comedy show before. I've been to a few local stand-up gigs and improvs, but usually it's people just starting out, not a pro with a polished act, you know?

12:20 pm - Spy On You Gotta Be Kidding Me
So far this week has been a total bust.  I've been researching how to set up a spycam for my site and having absolutely zero luck.  It seems like most of the software that people used to recommend aren't being supported anymore, so the bugs will never be fixed.  The options to go with companies that have built in solutions aren't my cup of tea either.  They seem to either be awesome, but allow no nudity, or are so covered with hardcore banners and graphics that they would be incredibly distracting.

I looked into setting up my Flash broadcasting server to the tune of $4500 just for the software.  Um...really?  For nearly five THOUSAND dollars, I hope it comes with a 24/7 feed of sexy cam girls willing to do whatever I ask of them.  And none of those Russian babes either.  They're hot and all, but I want English speaking hotties for that kind of money.

So...yeah.  I keep spinning my wheels and feel like I'm getting nowhere.  Just think - you could be watching me tear my hair out as I scour the interweb right NOW!  LIVE!!!  =)

Just adding a new movie for KrisMadison.com members.  You can check out the little animated GIF preview thingie I made for it on my main blog:  Sexy Ass in Full Back Panties

I had a great weekend and am trying to get caught up on a bit of work so that I can start the week off on the right foot AND relax tonight when I fire up the next episode of Dexter.  I'm totally loving this show.  Can't believe I missed out on the whole first season!  At least I've found something to keep me interested while I'm waiting for Heroes to return.  :)

11:16 am - New Pics
I'm working on a new gallery for Kris Madison members & you can see a NSFW sneak preview on my main blog: Cocoa Buttered BunsI have to do a bit of running around (Walmart, of all places), so I don't think I'm going to get the pics up before I have to leave the house, but they'll definitely go up tonight.

If you're a KCat Club member, I added a couple of new photo galleries over there too.  I don't focus on my Pro Adult site much anymore for a bunch of reasons, none of which have anything to do with the great fans I've met over there.  I've gotten a few emails over the last year wondering if I was going to keep working on the site or not, so I'm trying to give it another go.  The annoying part is when I submit pics to VW, I'm not allowed to use the pics on my site for 2 months.  I work really hard to create my pictures and movies, so putting them on a site that is known to be not secure and not being able to use them for 2 months is a little frustrating.

But it's not fair for me to punish PA *members* just because I don't like some of the admin policies, right?  Right!  So I'm going to work on regular updates again (though I'll probably never keep ALL of my content there, just because of the security issues).

Trip to Jasper

It always takes me a day or so to get back into the swing of things after a holiday and my weekend trip to Jasper was no exception. I didn't get to go skiing unfortunately, but it was a lovely visit and I took in some great scenery.

Trip to Jasper

As much as I love living on the coast, it's hard to say goodbye to family I know I won't see again for several months. Even so, getting a hint of the cold, dry weather in Alberta was enough to reassure me that I made the right decision to move. My skin loves humidity, rain, moisture. I felt like an old woman watching my skin shrivel and itch as it dried up. Think I'm exaggerating? I got a nose bleed on day two!

7:38 pm - Going Skiing This Weekend
Yay!  I get to be a ski bunny this weekend!

I'm driving to Jasper, Alberta tomorrow in the Canadian Rockies to meet up some family and have a little visit plus do some skiing.  Since they all live out east, it's sort of our way of meeting halfway and doing something cool at the same time.  I haven't skied in years.  Hopefully I won't fall too much.  Yowtch!

It's a really long drive through the mountains, lots of windy roads, so I'm trying to get everything caught up quickly and hit the sack early tonight.  I've already vacuumed out the car and washed it, done a load of laundry (all stuff I want to pack) and cleaned the kitchen.  I'm uploading a new photo gallery for Kris Madison members right now.  Whew!  I think I'll make it!

Have a great weekend!

9:03 pm - Sew What?
The weekend seemed to fly by too fast, though I suppose I did get a lot done.  My biggest accomplishment?  Finishing the quilt I started last week.  I added it up and it looks like it took me in the neighborhood of 17 hours from start to finish.  It wasn't a complicated one with a lot of tiny pieces or detailed stitching.  I can't imagine how long the really "good" ones take.  But this one works for me!  Perfect for snuggling up by the fire and keeping my feet warm.  The Pug has already broken it in.  :)

Join now and download the full zip set

Just posted some new pics of me flashing in the snow on my personal site.  They didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, but since we may not actually see another snowfall (that doesn't immediately get washed away by the rain) this year, they'll have to do.

You can check out the post on my main blog for a NSFW big booty pic in the snow.  *grin*

1:19 pm - Washing the Car OUTSIDE in the Middle of February
New Rubber Boots

(Please excuse the retarded face I'm making here. I think I was trying to hold that big silly smile too long while staring into direct sunlight.)

Now that I've braved most of the west coast's version of winter, I can officially say that I love it out here. I washed my car yesterday OUTSIDE. In the middle of February! I wasn't wearing a bikini or anything, but I was plenty warm in just a light jacket and sweatpants. I had to snap a picture just to send to my parents, who reported it was -22 C back home. hehe

One of the things I was worried I would never get used to out here is all the rain. I do miss seeing sunshine, but that's mostly because my apartment has no light. There is plenty of sunshine to be had when I get my butt outdoors. Even in bad patches where it rains every day, it doesn't rain ALL DAY every day. A few hours of rain here and there? I can handle that. Especially wearing my new rubber boots!

Piggy was a huge help yesterday too.  Way to work it out, pug!

12:07 am - Spy Satelite
I'm signed up for the email newsletter from Space Weather and thought their latest one was pretty interesting.  Re-posting here:

Space Weather News for Feb. 14, 2008
http://spaceweather.com

Malfunctioning spy satellite USA 193 has been in the news lately because of expectations that it will reenter Earth's atmosphere in March and turn into a spectacular fireball.  Reentry has not yet begun, but sky watchers are already noticing the satellite as it zips over Europe and the United States shining as brightly as a first or second magnitude star. Typical photos are shown on today's edition of http://spaceweather.com

In fact, USA 193 may never reenter--at least not in one piece. Today, the Pentagon announced it will attempt to blast the satellite with a missile before its orbit decays. This would lessen the chances of dangerous satellite debris and fuel reaching the ground while increasing the population of space junk in low-Earth orbit.

Would you like to see USA 193 with your own eyes?  It is about to make a series of evening appearances over many US towns and cities, beginning this weekend and continuing until the Pentagon intervenes. Flyby timetables may be found at Heavens Above http://heavens-above.com

2:01 pm - Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy hearts and flowers day!  I did a bunch of cute pics with those silly candy message hearts, but there weren't too many tame ones.  Even this one is probably borderline NSFW with LJ's new guidelines.  If you're over 18 and want to see the naughty ones, sign up for Kris Madison.com and download the whole set.  :)

So what are you doing for Valentine's Day?  I've got zero plans this year & am contemplating just staying home all day, soaking in a warm bubble bath and going to bed early with a good book.  And maybe some porn.  hehe.

Tomorrow, on the other hand, I'm going bargain hunting for red and pink lingerie that will be on sale!  And chocolate!!!  Those candy hearts are cute and all, but really...they shouldn't be eaten by anyone.

Have a happy day!

2:55 pm - Home from the Super Bowl
OK, I didn't actually *go* to the Super Bowl, but I did get to go to my first Super Bowl party! I had a great time down in OR visiting with friends [info]tornsworld  and [info]katvixenlive .

Growing up in Canada, Super Bowl was never a huge thing. I remember watching the game, but this was my first official Super Bowl party and it definitely lived up to my expectations.

Chili? Check!
Beer? Check!
Big screen TV? Check!
Steak? Pizza? Homemade broccoli and cheese soup? Check! Check! Check!

I'm amazed that I was able to get off the couch at all after that spread. Yum.

The game itself was great because I went in not really caring who won. I tend to root for the underdogs, so if Baby Manning was able to pull it off & live up to the family name? Brothers winning MVP back to back years? Easy to cheer for. On the other hand, if the Patriots had won and played the perfect season, it's easy to be excited about watching a moment of football history. So either way, the game was a win-win for me. I just wanted to see a good game, not a blow out. And that's exactly what we got.

So did you win any money on the game? *wink*

2:33 am - Smarty Pants
smarty pants

I'm the Smarty Pants!  I just won 2 rounds in a row while drinking several caesars (described in this blog post, if you're not familiar).  This silly trivia game is one of the most fun party games I've tried for the Wii.  I've gotten my money's worth out of the whole console with this game and Wii Sports alone.  Bowling and boxing are my other fave games when friends come over.
